Cheshire Democratic Town Council candidates announce their election-long “Listening Tour” that will take them on the road to events and sites throughout Cheshire, allowing them the chance to listen to voters and plan for the future.
The “Listening Tour” experience will involve a series of events urging the public to come out and speak with Cheshire Democratic candidates. The “Listening Tour” kicks off with a chance for coffee and conversation at these locations and dates: Stop 1 – Paul’s Restaurant, Sat. Sept. 9, 9 a.m. to 10 a.m. Stop 2 – Cheshire Coffee, Sat. Sept. 23, 9 a.m. to 10 a.m. Stop 3 – Main Street Caffe, Sat. Oct. 7, 9 a.m. to 10 a.m. Stops 4 and 5 – Oct. 21 and Nov. 4, sites, times to be announced. Comprising the strong slate of Cheshire Town Council candidates are incumbents Patti Flynn-Harris (at-large), Michael Ecke (District 1 candidate), Peter Talbot (District 4) and Jeffrey Falk (District 3). Former Town Councilors Ron Gagliardi and Jim McKenney are Town Council at-large candidates. Other candidates with strong backgrounds are Derek Gromko (District 2) and at-large candidates Kim Cangiano and Jim Jinks. “As candidates for our local election we feel our most important role is to be the voice for all Cheshire residents,” Jinks said. “We want to hear the concerns and ideas from the people that live right here. We don't presume to have all the answers and we don't take our cues from elsewhere. The best solutions for Cheshire are most likely to be those that come from our community, not from Hartford or Washington.” Another part of the “Listening Tour” is the new “Cheshire Listens” page on Facebook at www.facebook.com/cheshirelistens. The Facebook page is a forum hosted by Cheshire Democratic Town Council candidates where you can discuss issues facing residents of Cheshire. Residents are urged to check out the Facebook page and also come have coffee and conversation with Cheshire Democratic Town Council candidates on the “Listening Tour.” Voters are also urged to go to www.Cheshiredem.org to view Cheshire Democratic Town Council bios, news and updates. Cheshire, this is Your Voice, Your Vote, Your Future.
