How to Register to Vote courtesy of the Cheshire Registrar of Voters:
Unsure of your party affiliation or status as a voter? Call the Registrar's Office at (203) 271-6680. The staff will provide and explain a voter’s status quickly. Remember, only voters affiliated with political parties may participate in Connecticut primaries.
In June 2022, the Town Council adopted updates to the voting districts in response to the State redistricting.

- Register in person at:
- the Registrars of Voters’ office or the Town Clerk’s office at Town Hall, 84 South Main Street;
- the Cheshire Public Library at 104 Main Street;
- or at the Department of Motor Vehicles.
- If you register at a location other than the Registrar of Voters' office, however, be sure to complete and keep your receipt as proof of your application (if you are unsure of your status, please call the office at 203 271-6680. The Elections Department office is open and accepting applications all year Monday-Friday 9 a.m. - 3 p.m.)
- Register by mail by sending a completed registration card (which can also be obtained through the locations above) to the Registrars of Voters, 84 South Main St., Cheshire, CT 06410.
- You may register online via the Secretary of the State website: https://voterregistration.ct.gov/OLVR/welcome.do
- If you have any questions about your current voting eligibility status, polling place, party affiliation, or other matters relating to your rights, contact the Registrars of Voters office at any time: (203) 271-6680 or by mail at Elections Department, Town Hall, 84 South Main Street, Cheshire CT 06410.

Day and hours are:
October 21 - November 3
10 am - 6 pm
AND
Extra hours on October 29 and 31:
8 am - 8 pm.
Early voting is only available in-person at Cheshire Town Hall, not by mail or drop box.

Absentee Ballot Information:
You may apply for and vote with an absentee ballot for the general election. Applications are available in English and Spanish.
To vote using an absentee ballot, indicate one of these reasons on your application:
To receive your absentee ballot please complete and sign an application and return it to the Town Clerk's Office in Town Hall, 84 South Main Street, Cheshire, CT 06410
You may apply for and vote with an absentee ballot for the general election. Applications are available in English and Spanish.
To vote using an absentee ballot, indicate one of these reasons on your application:
- Active service in the Armed Forces of the United States
- Absence from my town of residence
- Sickness (this includes the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic and the avoidance of possibly contracting COVID-19)
- Religious tenets forbid secular activity on the day of the election, primary or referendum
- Duties as a primary, election or referendum official at a polling place other than my own during all of the hours of voting
- Physical disability
To receive your absentee ballot please complete and sign an application and return it to the Town Clerk's Office in Town Hall, 84 South Main Street, Cheshire, CT 06410
