Your Three Voting Options in 2026
1. Election Day - Tuesday, November 3, 2026
Time: 6:00 am to 8:00 pm
Location: Vote at your regular polling place. See the list of Cheshire polling locations below.
2. Early Voting In Person - at Cheshire Town Hall
Dates: Monday, October 19- Sunday, November 1
Times: 10 am - 6:00 pm INCLUDING WEEKENDS!
Extended Hours: Tuesday, Oct. 27 and Thurs. Oct. 29 from 8:00 am - 8:00 pm
Location: Early voting takes place at CHESHIRE TOWN HALL ONLY
3. Absentee Voting
Connecticut voters no longer need an excuse to vote using an absentee ballot. To request an absentee ballot, simply apply on the online portal or print out the application available on the Secretary of the State’s website, and mail it to:

Ballots will be mailed one month before the election. Please be sure to return your ballot as quickly as possible to ensure a timely delivery.

*For the 2026 primary and general election, District 4 voting will temporarily move across the street to the new YMCA building (former St. Thomas Becket Church) at 435 North Brooksvale Rd. due to the ongoing construction at Norton School.

How to Register to Vote courtesy of the Cheshire Registrar of Voters:
- Register in person at:
- the Registrars of Voters’ office or the Town Clerk’s office at Town Hall, 84 South Main Street;
- the Cheshire Public Library at 104 Main Street;
- or at the Department of Motor Vehicles.
- If you register at a location other than the Registrar of Voters' office, however, be sure to keep your receipt as proof of your application (if you are unsure of your status, please call the office at 203 271-6680. The Elections Department office is open and accepting applications all year Monday-Friday 9 a.m. - 3 p.m.)
- Register by mail by sending a completed registration card (which can also be obtained through the locations above) to the Registrars of Voters, 84 South Main St., Cheshire, CT 06410.
- Register online via the Secretary of the State website: https://voterregistration.ct.gov/OLVR/welcome.do
- If you have any questions about your current voting eligibility status, polling place, party affiliation, or other matters relating to your rights, contact the Registrars of Voters office at any time: (203) 271-6680. The staff will provide and explain a voter’s status quickly.
- Remember, only voters affiliated with political parties may participate in Connecticut primaries.
