The following is a statement from the committee to elect Anne Harrigan, Democratic endorsed candidate for the 89th State House District, in response to Rep. Lezlye Zupkus failing to attend a General Assembly Children’s Committee public forum on Wednesday.
"On Wednesday September 26th, the General Assembly Children’s Committee held a joint forum with the Public Health Committee to discuss the tragic suicide of pregnant teenager Destiny G. at Solnit Children’s Center, a psychiatric facility run by DCF. Representative Zupkus, the ranking member of the Children’s Committee, was not present for this important discussion.
"Anne Harrigan is committed to working on these and other tough issues that come to the state legislature. She feels attendance at these forums is imperative to being a successful representative."
