If negative karma does not appeal to you, if a politician following the my way or the highway attitude turns you off, then when Election Day on Nov. 6 comes around if you live in Meriden, Cheshire, Middlefield or Middletown you should enthusiastically vote for Democratic endorsed 13th District State Senate candidate Mary Abrams.
Abrams will be a positive influence in the State Senate, vowing to work for what is in the best interest of all her constituents with an understanding that compromise and working across the aisle is the best way to get things done.
Today (Oct. 18) Abrams will be facing her Republican opponent and incumbent Len Suzio at the State House and Senate Forum at Washington Middle School (1225 North Broadway St., Meriden) scheduled for 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. The forum features candidates in the 82nd and 83rd House Districts and the 13th Senate District.
The event is free, open to the public and sponsored by the Meriden Record-Journal, Midstate Chamber of Commerce and Meriden Public Schools.
Negative karma? Just look at Suzio's voting record at www.VoteSmart.org at bit.ly/2CQ8bLa. A lot more Nays than Yeas on that list and the interesting thing is that every time there was a Nay the bill passed.
If you support Mary Abrams and are looking for that positive change in Hartford, then you are urged to show your support at a pre-forum rally at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday at Washington Middle School. The pre-forum rally will be held from 5:30 p.m. to 6 p.m. and Mary Abrams supporters from Meriden, Cheshire, Middlefield and Middletown are urged to take part in the rally.
