I have a major philosophy of life...Only Positivity In And Out...abbreviated OPIAO (soon to be the license plate on my car.) Since OPIAOdoes not allow me to hate, or even to dislike anyone, I have been faced with a problem.
It has morphed from an entertaining diversion to the actual president of my country and I now need a way to deal with its continued existence and probable influence over my life for four years, barring itsimpeachment or resignation. I refer to it as it because, in order to function according to the rules of OPIAO, I have to relegate it to the position of non-person.
A non-person in my world of OPIAO is an individual who is not worthy of consideration. This non-person individual should be avoided, ignored, not listened to, not read about, not discussed and not even thought about, if possible.
I realize that this will be difficult, given its exalted position as the most powerful leader in the world, to ignore it completely; every day, every newscast, every edition of my morning paper, every cover of every magazine that will cover its misdeeds. So, I've decided that I will make a concerted effort, at least one day of every week, to assiduously ignore the existence of this non-person.
I have chosen Thursday as the day to perform this "process of elimination." (I considered that phrase carefully, since I am dealing with its "movement" as well.) I also have chosen Thursday for another reason, to be revealed in the next paragraph.
There is one Thursday that is particularly important in this endeavor and that is January 19, 2017. It will be the last Thursday before it takes, and I do mean takes, office. I have chosen to use its name to initiate my non-person transformation just this once and to call it Trumpless Thursday.
I specifically chose Thursday because this is a day of the week that contains three letters of its name, the letters t, u and r. And, in keeping with my efforts to remove it from that day during every week, my final piece of excision will be to remove those three letters from that day.
So, for me, and anyone else who decides to join me, that day of the week shall be referred to as "Hsday" appropriately pronounced "hiss day" for as long as we have to endure itspresence.
And, by the way, just in case you were wondering why I chose to italicize it, it hasn't been straight with anyone.
